From RedStart Design comes The Subtle Safety Defensive Ring, a stylish, sterling silver force multiplier for the independent woman.This little dodad is quite cool, actually, folding up into what looks like your standard ugly fad ring only to be spread across three knuckles to make sure your first jab draws blood.
This was apparently designed by three women in the San Francisco area who met in grad school and went on to start their own jewelry design firm. I guess they must have had a bad experience on BART.

is it bad of me to say I want one?
I don't think so. The novelty factor, alone, makes me want one. As a weapon, though, it might not be as effective as something with a longer range; like a club or a asp baton, for instance.
