Seized Knock-offs Going to Katrina Victims
The AP is reporting, via CNN, that FEMA is sending seized counterfeit clothing to the victims of hurricane Katrina.
I find this kinda funny, actually. Really makes you wonder what the government does with this stuff when there aren't any natural disasters that need fixing.
My concern here is that handing this stuff out might cause more of a problem than it's worth. Counterfeit clothing is usually substandard and lack durability. These victims have nothing and may end up wearing this stuff for a significant length of time.
I guess it's good for the short term, but that seems to be the hallmark of this administration; no long-term planning. Oh, and failure in previous endeavors before taking office. They're big on that, too.
Yeah, that's right. I'm looking at you, FEMA director and former failure of a horse show coordinator, Michael Brown, who, oddly enough, isn't even listed as the head of FEMA on their website. Seems like a step in the right direction.
